Drogs agree to wait on trophy
Drogheda United will not receive the eircom League of Ireland Premier Division trophy if they win the league on Friday night. Paul Doolin's side are ten points clear of nearest rivals Cork City and will be out of touching distance should they beat the Rebels at United Park tomorrow night.


Staunton's reign looks over
Steve Staunton's reign as Irish manager is expected to come to an end over the weekend with an emergency meeting of the FAI's board. The pressure for the manager's exit has intensified since Wednesday's humiliating 1-1 draw with Cyprus in Croke Park. Speaking to RTÉ last night the Association's Chief Executive John Delaney moved to distance himself personally from Staunton's appointment, pointing out that a three man committee had been handed the responsibility.
